2 months after installing, the driver side TRE ripped in half as I was turning into my driveway (thank God). I had purchased the newer Dodge steering from the 2010+ trucks and installed it on my truck, and thought I had found the fix to these shitty tie rods once and for all. We machine every part for these steering kits ourselves, so even if you find a similar steering setup online, it's not going to be anywhere near the quality of our steering. And with the hardware we machine for this kit, even if the heim ever were to try and come apart, it is captured in place by our safety washers. The nice thing about heims is that when they wear out, they don't fall apart like a typical TRE does. They can be replaced with basic hand tools (a crescent wrench is usually all you need) in a few minutes. The only thing that can wear out are the heim joints and if/when they do, you just buy a new heim to replace the one that is worn out. Many of our customers have sold their truck but transferred the steering over to their new truck, sometimes multiple times. This will be the last steering linkage you need to buy for your truck. It's all made here at our shop in Arkansas, just as it always has been.ĭOR steering is built to take abuse - our focus is on off road trucks so we build everything a lot stronger than it needs to be. It does take us longer to build and ship steering kits out than most places, but we don't cut corners on anything just to fulfill a shipment, and we're not having parts of the steering made overseas or at outside fabrication shops. So many of our customers order our steering after they've already tried other upgrades and realized they aren't really much of an upgrade at all. This is a much stronger steering linkage than any other bolt-in setup available - it's strong enough to finish the Mint 400 under a Ram race truck we sponsored! The Mint 400 is known as the toughest off road race in America, it takes place in the brutal Nevada desert each year. We powdercoat the drag link and tie rod with a really nice looking satin black finish. Don't waste your time or money on standard tie rod end setups like the Mopar 08.5 factory steering or similar aftermarket setups - heims are much stronger and are 100% legal in all 50 states.
